Dubai just dropped the ultimate thank-you gift for its long-serving nurses: a Golden Visa. Yup, if you’ve been holding it down in healthcare at Dubai Health for over 15 years, the UAE is making it official with long-term residency.

The announcement came on International Nurses Day and follows the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum—Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister.

The move is a big deal, not just for the nurses, but also for the future of healthcare in the UAE. It celebrates frontline heroes who’ve dedicated years to caring for the community, while also reinforcing the UAE’s promise to invest in and support the medical workforce.

Sheikh Hamdan praised the nursing staff, calling them “frontline partners in building a healthier society,” and highlighted how this initiative is part of a bigger mission to reward loyalty, excellence, and service in the health sector.

So yes, while everyone’s talking about Golden Visas for influencers and investors, Dubai just made it crystal clear—nurses are gold too.
