Emirates to Disrupt Flight to and from Mauritius Amidst Cyclone Belal

Dubai's renowned airline, Emirates, revealed disruptions to its flight schedule to and from Mauritius in light of tropical cyclone Belal.

Flight EK 703, originally set to depart from Dubai to Mauritius on January 15th, has been delayed by 27 hours, now scheduled for departure on January 16th at 1:30 pm UAE time. The corresponding return flight, EK 704, from Mauritius to Dubai, is delayed by 21 hours, with the new departure time from Mauritius on January 16th at 8 pm local time.

Regrettably, Emirates had to cancel both the EK 701 flight from Dubai to Mauritius and the EK 702 flight from Mauritius to Dubai, both scheduled for January 16th.

Passengers holding onward connections to the canceled EK701 flight will not be accepted for travel at their departure point.

Tropical cyclone Belal has already impacted the French island of Reunion, prompting Emirates to closely monitor the situation. The airline aims to provide customers with ample notice in case of further changes. Those affected are urged to contact their travel agents or Emirates' local office for rebooking options.

Emirates has been a vital air link to Mauritius for ten years, celebrating the 10th anniversary of its daily A380 service to the island on December 18th, 2023. The airline has played a pivotal role in connecting Mauritius with significant global destinations. However, safety remains a top priority, necessitating adjustments due to the evolving weather conditions.

Meanwhile, Air Mauritius has also announced the closure of Roland Garros Airport in Saint-Denis de La Réunion, resulting in the cancellation of all flights to and from Reunion until further notice. Travelers are advised to stay updated on any developments as the situation unfolds.
