New Paid Parking Zones in Musaffah Starting April 20

Abu Dhabi authorities have revealed the addition of new paid parking zones in Musaffah as part of the ongoing expansion of the emirate’s parking management system. The announcement was made on Monday, with the paid parking system set to go into effect from April 20.

The parking fee for standard spaces will be Dh2 per hour, and payments can be made through a variety of digital channels, including mobile apps, SMS, and on-site machines. This initiative marks the second phase of the paid parking rollout in Musaffah and spans sectors M7, M8, M9, M14, and M15, covering a total of 10,010 parking spaces. Dedicated spaces have also been allocated for people of determination.

Part of a larger plan launched in January 2026 to improve parking regulations and enhance traffic flow, the move is aimed at making parking management more systematic in a busy area known for its heavy traffic and diverse economic and service activities. Musaffah serves as a significant industrial and commercial hub and witnesses a daily influx of workers and visitors.

Addressing Parking Challenges

The growing demand for public parking in Musaffah has led to challenges such as difficulty in finding spaces and irregular, random parking practices. These issues have contributed to congestion and disrupted mobility throughout the district.

Authorities hope the newly established parking zones will alleviate these problems by streamlining parking usage, reducing congestion, and enhancing vehicle circulation. The initiative is also expected to improve access to various facilities in the area, boost road safety, and support economic activity by facilitating smoother movement for visitors and employees. Moreover, it aims to create a more organized and efficient work environment for businesses operating in the district.

Expansion of Parking Facilities

The introduction of paid parking zones in Musaffah aligns with a broader effort to optimize parking facilities across Abu Dhabi. In January, Q Mobility implemented paid public parking in other sectors within Musaffah, adding 4,680 parking spaces to help ease congestion in one of the emirate’s busiest industrial zones. Additionally, four multi-storey parking facilities were opened in Mohamed Bin Zayed City in March, contributing an additional 1,446 parking spaces to the city’s infrastructure.

A new paid parking system also launched on April 6, providing parking in multiple commercial zones and covering over 10,400 spaces. Unlike typical practices in Abu Dhabi, these spaces aren’t reserved for residents after 9 PM.

As Q Mobility continues to expand its services under the supervision of the Integrated Transport Centre of the Department of Municipalities and Transport, residents hope these measures will put an end to the frustration caused by random parking practices and alleviate their daily parking challenges.
