Dubai Announces Free Parking This Friday for Hijri New Year

Heads up, Dubai drivers! In celebration of the Hijri New Year, all public parking across Dubai will be free of charge on Friday, June 27 — that is, unless you’re parking in a multi-level terminal (those still charge as usual).

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) confirmed that standard parking fees will be back in effect starting Saturday, June 28.

And that’s not the only holiday update. Most customer happiness centres and vehicle testing centres will take the day off Friday, too. But if you need to get something done, don’t stress — the smart customer happiness centres at Umm Ramool, Deira, Al Barsha, and RTA HQ will remain open around the clock.

Here’s what else you need to know:

🚆 Public Transport Schedule (June 27):

  • Dubai Metro: 5:00 AM to 1:00 AM (next day)

  • Dubai Tram: 6:00 AM to 1:00 AM (next day)

The RTA also confirmed adjustments to bus and marine transport schedules to accommodate the holiday rush, so make sure to check your route before heading out.

From free parking to extended metro hours, Friday’s looking like a smooth ride around the city.
