Ministry of Defence confirms missile and drone interceptions as casualties rise

UAE Reports 188 Injuries Since Iran Conflict Began

The UAE Ministry of Defence reported that since the beginning of the conflict with Iran, a total of 188 people have been injured in attacks targeting the country.

On March 31, 2026, UAE air defences intercepted 8 ballistic missiles, 4 cruise missiles, and 36 drones launched from Iran. Since the start of the attacks, defence systems have engaged 433 ballistic missiles, 19 cruise missiles, and 1,977 UAVs.

Casualties and injuries

The ministry confirmed the deaths of 2 UAE armed forces personnel on duty and a Moroccan civilian contractor. Other fatalities included nationals from Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Palestine, and India.

In addition to the fatalities, 188 people sustained injuries ranging from minor to severe. Those affected include citizens from the UAE, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Iran, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Uganda, Eritrea, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Comoros, Türkiye, Iraq, Nepal, Nigeria, Oman, Jordan, Palestine, Ghana, Indonesia, Sweden, and Tunisia.

Defence readiness

The Ministry of Defence emphasized that the UAE is fully prepared to respond to any threats. Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to protecting national security, sovereignty, and stability, and to confronting attempts to undermine the nation’s safety and interests.
