UAE Shoots Down Total of 814 Threats Since Saturday Gulf Attacks, Including 645 Drones and 169 Missiles

The UAE Ministry of Defence said that since Iranian attacks began on Saturday, Feb. 28, the country’s air defence systems have intercepted a total of 814 threats — including 645 drones, 161 ballistic missiles and 8 cruise missiles — protecting the nation’s airspace from harm.

On Monday alone, air defences intercepted nine ballistic missiles, six cruise missiles and 148 drones, showing the ongoing intensity of the assaults.

Casualties and Damage Across the UAE

The defence ministry confirmed that three people have been killed and dozens injured since the strikes began. Debris from intercepted weapons has caused minor to moderate damage to civilian facilities, though authorities say overall damage has been limited.

Of the 174 ballistic missiles launched towards the UAE, 161 were destroyed in mid‑air and 13 fell into the sea. Meanwhile, 645 drones were intercepted and destroyed, and 44 crashed within UAE territory, some striking buildings before falling, and eight cruise missiles were also detected and destroyed.

Defence Officials Condemn the Attacks

The ministry described the targeting of the UAE as a “blatant act of aggression” and a violation of national sovereignty and international law. Officials stressed that the UAE reserves the full right to respond to threats against its territory if needed.

Authorities also urged residents and visitors to rely on official sources for information and avoid spreading unverified rumours as the situation continues to unfold.
