UAE Tops Forbes 20 Women Behind Middle Eastern Tech Brands 2023 List

The UAE topped the Forbes Middle East's "20 Women Behind Middle Eastern Tech Brands 2023" list, with 11 companies headquartered in the country.

Egypt and Saudi Arabia followed the UAE with three and two entries, respectively.

Here is a list of the top women behind 10 Middle Eastern tech brands 2023:

2. Mona Ataya, Leena Khalil
3. Derya Baran
4. Nour Sleiman
5. Ioanna Angelidaki
6. Nour Al Hassan
7. Melda Akin
8. Nadine Mezher
9. Fatma El Shenawy
10. Sophia Alj

Meanwhile, Jordanians dominate the list with four founders, followed by Egyptians, British, and Turkish, each with two founders.

The list of 20 Women Behind Middle Eastern Tech Brands 2023 sheds light on the female founders who have established strong tech-enabled platforms, and pushed the boundaries of creativity, innovation, and impact in their respective industries.

They represent 12 of the tech industry's most prominent and vital sub-sectors, including fintech, e-commerce, logistics, agri-tech, healthtech, and proptech. 

The 20 entries were evaluated based on the amount of external funding they have raised, as well as their creativity, innovation, impact, and revenues.
