Dubai Suspends Friday Operations for Some Govt Entities

Dubai has announced the suspension of Friday operations and reduction of work hours for some government entities, as part of a new pilot scheme.

Dubai has announced the suspension of Friday operations and reduction of work hours for some government entities, which is part of the emirate's ‘Our Flexible Summer’.
The initiative's pilot will be implemented from Monday, Aug. 12 to Monday, Sep. 30.
Most public sector employees have a two-and-a-half-day weekend, but with this initiative, they will enjoy a longer weekend.
However, the Dubai Government Human Resources Department (DGHR) has not specified which government entities will be part of this initiative.
The DGHR will survey to assess the effects of the initiative on employees' productivity.
The initiative will help enhance employees' quality of life and promote sustainable use of the government's resources.
