Sharjah authorities have confirmed that a major fire in a clothing warehouse in Hamriyah’s second free zone was successfully brought under control on Friday evening, thanks to a massive joint effort by civil defence teams from four emirates.
No injuries were reported, according to the Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority in Sharjah, which praised the swift and coordinated response.
Four Emirates, One Mission
Firefighters from Dubai, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, and Fujairah joined Sharjah’s own teams to tackle the blaze. Crews worked under an integrated response plan, sealing off the area, stopping the flames from spreading, and minimising damage to nearby facilities.
Officials noted that the fire was contained in “record time,” showcasing the high readiness and efficiency of UAE emergency services.
Aftermath and Investigation
Cooling operations are ongoing to ensure the site remains safe and to prevent any flare-ups. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine what sparked the fire.
Sharjah Civil Defence expressed gratitude for the cooperation of multiple agencies, including the General Command of Civil Defence Dubai, General Administration of Civil Defence Ajman, Civil Defence Department of Umm Al Quwain, Fujairah Civil Defence Department, as well as Sharjah Municipality, Hamriyah Municipality and Free Zone, and Marwan Company.
