Chelsea Captain Azpilicueta Surprises Young Fan in Abu Dhabi Hospital

Cesar Azpilicueta, the club captain of Chelsea FC, surprised a young fan from Abu Dhabi with a visit to the hospital.

Khalifa Al Mansoori, a Chelsea fan currently undergoing treatment at Burjeel Medical City, was shocked this week when Cesar Azpilicueta walked into his hospital room.

Khalifa was disappointed in not being able to attend Azpilicueta lifting the FIFA Club World Cup 2021 in Abu Dhabi in February 2020 due to his health concerns and was compensated by the unexpected hospital visit from the Chelsea captain.

At the age of four, Khalifa suffered severe injuries in a car accident, resulting in fractures in his spine and pelvis, as well as damage to his hip joint

In a recent surgery conducted at the Paley Middle East Clinic in Burjeel Medical City, Khalifa underwent surgery to change his impaired hip joint and extend the length of his femur.

The Emirati boy is currently undergoing intensive physical therapy at the hospital to regain movement of his hip and knee.

“Meeting Azpilicueta is a dream come true for me," Khalifa said.

"His kind words have given me a morale boost in my recovery journey.”
