Dubai Reopens Shri Krishna Temple and St Mary's Church for the Masses

Dubai has reopened Shri Krishna Temple and St Mary’s Catholic Church, marking a significant step in resuming religious services in the city. Authorities have implemented strict measures to ensure public safety while complying with regulations set forth by the Community Development Authority (CDA).

Phased Reopening of Religious Sites

Places of worship across Dubai are undergoing a phased reopening as part of the city's coordinated efforts to balance public access with health and safety requirements. Along with Shri Krishna Temple and St Mary’s Church, Gurudwara Guru Nanak Darbar has updated its operations to accommodate devotees under the new guidelines.

Adjustments to Visiting Hours and Services

At Gurudwara Guru Nanak Darbar, visiting hours have been revised to operate from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with last entry permitted at 5:30 p.m. Gurudwara management emphasized that the safety and well-being of devotees remain a top priority, urging strict adherence to CDA regulations. Devotees have also been offering prayers for peace and safety during these uncertain times.

Shri Krishna Temple has resumed regular darshan services starting Saturday, April 11. The temple's management stated that reopening aligns with CDA directives and reflects the gradual restoration of religious access while maintaining stringent compliance with regulatory standards.

St Mary’s Catholic Church has also reopened under limited protocols. Services are restricted to indoor parish facilities, including designated halls, with outdoor gatherings still suspended. Adults aged 18 and above are allowed to attend obligatory weekend Masses, managed through a mandatory online registration system. For parishioners unable to secure slots, the church is offering online streaming options to ensure wider participation.

Strict Guidelines and Safety Measures

Church officials have advised worshippers to book early due to limited capacity and follow all safety procedures. Contingency measures are in place to address emergencies. In addition, management across all reopened religious sites stressed the importance of strict compliance with CDA guidelines as they navigate the reopening process.

The phased reopening of religious sites highlights Dubai’s commitment to balancing the spiritual needs of its residents while prioritizing public health and safety in accordance with government regulations.
