Dubai-Based Mountaineer Scales Mount Manaslu in Nepal

Dubai-based Pakistani mountaineer Naila Kiani has accomplished another great feat by scaling Mount Manaslu in Nepal.

Kiani has become the first woman in the UAE to climb 14 of the world's mountains and each of them is over 8,000 meters.

Kiani scaled the world's eight-highest mountain at 8,613 meters on Sep. 21 after a twelve-hour ascent during the previous night.

After this new accomplishment, Kiani returned to Kathmandu.

The mountaineer is now preparing to fly to China to take on the Tibetan peaks of Shishapangma and Cho Oyu.

During her climb of Mount Manaslu, the weather was stable, however, Kiani was not well as she had an infection on her lips and foot.

Although she had been taking antibiotics, the mountaineer was not feeling her best during her climb.

Nonetheless, she was able to scale Mount Manaslu successfully.

The mountaineer was joined by an international support group for her Manaslu expedition, which included a Pakistani, American, Japanese, Macedonian and Nepalese climber, as well as a small group of Nepalese sherpas.

Naila Kiani has already scaled K2, Mount Everest, Lhotse and Annapurna in Nepal. She has also scaled Nanga Parbat and Gasherbrum I and II in Pakistan and Broad Reach on the border of China.

Once she has scaled all the peaks from the super-14, Kiani plans on returning home.

With her magnificent climbing feats, Kiani has shown the world the strength of Pakistani Muslim women who are living in the UAE. She has a family and career, but she did not let that stop her from reaching these summits!
