Electricity Restored in Several Sharjah Areas After Emergency Fault

Electricity has been restored in several areas of Sharjah following a temporary power outage caused by a “localised emergency fault,” according to the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA).

In a statement issued on Sunday, Sewa said the fault activated automatic protection systems designed to safeguard grid stability. The authority confirmed that the issue has been addressed and that power supply has already returned to “several areas,” with electricity being progressively restored to the remaining affected locations after the completion of necessary safety checks.

The statement came less than an hour after residents in multiple Sharjah neighbourhoods reported power disruptions that impacted lifts, internet services and other routine daily activities.

Sewa reiterated its commitment to maintaining “high standards of reliability and service continuity,” assuring residents that teams are working to ensure the safe and full restoration of electricity across the emirate.
