Hamriyah Port Fire Fully Contained, No Injuries Reported

Sharjah's Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Team has confirmed that the large fire at Hamriyah Port has been completely contained. Emergency crews are now working on cooling the site to prevent any flare-ups.

No Injuries or Deaths Reported

Thankfully, no injuries or casualties were reported. The fire broke out in one of the port's industrial areas and spread quickly due to flammable materials stored nearby. The situation could have been much worse, but thanks to the quick response of Sharjah Civil Defence, it was brought under control in time.

Rapid Response from Authorities

Firefighters and emergency teams reached the scene within minutes. They worked closely with the Hamriyah Free Zone Authority and local police to clear the area and stop the fire from reaching nearby buildings.

The Emergency and Crisis Team said, “Our teams managed to contain the fire quickly. We are now in the cooling phase, and there is no danger to nearby areas.”

Fire Cause Under Investigation

Authorities have started a full investigation to find out what caused the fire. While the exact reason is still unknown, early signs suggest it may have been due to electrical equipment or unsafe chemical storage.

Officials have promised to review safety practices in the area and take strict action if any rules were broken.

Environmental Safety Checked

Teams have also been sent to monitor the air and nearby water for any signs of pollution. Early tests show that the fire did not cause any major environmental harm, but more checks will be carried out in the coming days.

Public and Business Cooperation Praised

Sharjah authorities praised workers, businesses, and the public for staying calm and following safety rules. Nearby businesses were evacuated as a precaution, and everyone cooperated with emergency instructions.

Officials said, “The support from the public and port workers helped us deal with the fire more effectively. We thank everyone for their cooperation.”

Strong Safety Measures Recommended

In the aftermath of the fire, Sharjah's safety officials are urging all business owners in Hamriyah and across the emirate to review their fire safety plans. This includes checking electrical systems, storing chemicals properly, and training staff for emergencies.

Frequent safety drills and inspections are being encouraged to make sure that everyone knows what to do in case of another incident.

Sharjah’s Quick Action Prevents Bigger Disaster

Hamriyah Free Zone is a busy industrial area with many factories and storage units. A fire here can be very dangerous, but this incident shows how fast and well-trained Sharjah’s emergency teams are.

Thanks to their fast action and clear planning, the damage was limited and no lives were lost.
