Emirates Employees Get 24-Week Bonuses After Huge Profits

Emirates reported their highest-ever profits of DH10.9 billion, or almost $3 billion. The airline soon after stated that as a form of gratitude for its staff, they would get a 24-week salary bonus.

In its 2022–23 annual report, which was released on Thursday, the company reported a record yearly profit of Dh10.9 billion (US$ 3.0 billion). From the business being in the red last year, this is a total turnaround.

The chairman and CEO of Emirates Airline and Group, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, sent an email to his staff appreciating them for their dedication and hard work. “This reflects the strength of our proven business model, our careful forward planning, the hard work of all our employees, and our solid partnerships across the aviation and travel ecosystem.”

"Invest it wisely, save or spend it well and enjoy the results of your hard work,” The CEO concluded in his e-mail to the employees. Depending on the employees' basic salaries, their bonuses will vary. Each employee will get either 24 weeks or 6 months' worth of their basic salary.

“Covid was one of the toughest times for us. It felt like life had come to a halt but now, to have turned that around and reached this position feels great,” said an Emirates employee in an interview with Khaleej Times.
