When is the UAE National Day Holiday 2023 for the Public Sector?

Federal government employees are set to enjoy an extended weekend in celebration of the 52nd UAE National Day.

The Federal Authority For Government Human Resources announced that employees will be on leave from Saturday, December 2nd, to Monday, December 4th, with work resuming on Tuesday, December 5th. Public sector workers can also work from home on Friday, December 1st.

Private sector employees will also benefit from paid public holidays on December 2nd and 3rd, as declared by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation. National Day commemorates the formation of the UAE on December 2nd, 1971, when six emirates united, with Ras Al Khaimah joining the following year.

Festivities will take place across the UAE, with the official ceremony for the 52nd National Day hosted at Expo City Dubai, the venue for the COP28 climate conference.

The event promises to showcase the nation's sustainable vision through innovative technologies, projections, and elements of Sadu weaving, symbolizing unity and sustainability. The show will explore the roots of Emirati culture, emphasizing the connection between tradition and technology.
