Emirates Launches Crypto.com Pay for UAE Flight Bookings

Dubai-based airline Emirates has officially launched Crypto.com Pay, giving UAE customers a new way to pay for flights when booking through the airline’s website or mobile app. This payment option is available for customers with a Crypto.com account and applies to flights priced and paid in UAE dirhams (AED).

The launch follows an MoU signed by Emirates and Crypto.com in July 2025 to explore adding Crypto.com Pay to the airline’s digital payment options.

How does it work?

Customers booking on emirates.com or through the Emirates App can choose Crypto.com Pay at checkout. Emirates said the payment process is secure and follows UAE regulatory standards.

The airline said this step supports the Dubai Cashless Strategy under the D33 Economic Agenda. The plan aims to make 90 per cent of financial transactions across government and private sectors digital by the end of 2026.

Emirates also said the launch builds on its work with Dubai Finance to support digital payments. It also follows Crypto.com’s partnership with Dubai Finance to enable digital payments for government services.

How customers can pay

The payment process is slightly different depending on whether customers book through the app or on a desktop.

On the Emirates App

  • Select Crypto.com Pay during checkout.

  • Customers are redirected to the Crypto.com app to approve payment from their wallet.

  • They are then returned to the Emirates App, where their booking confirmation and e-ticket are issued.

On emirates.com

  • Select Crypto.com Pay at checkout.

  • Scan the QR code shown on the payment page using the Crypto.com app.

  • Approve the payment in the app.

  • Once payment is confirmed, the booking confirmation and e-ticket are displayed.

The launch of Crypto.com Pay is the latest move by Emirates to make travel payments more flexible. In recent years, the airline has introduced EMI payment options for customers in India in partnership with participating banks.

Emirates has also rolled out an optional travel insurance package during booking. This allows passengers to add cover for trip cancellation, medical emergencies, baggage delays and other travel disruptions when booking their flights.
