Five Teens in Dubai Injured After Doing Stunts in Desert Areas

Five young men, aged 18 to 20, sustained moderate to severe injuries in a desert SUV rollover incident in Al Ruwayyah, disclosed Dubai Police on Tuesday.

Reckless Driving Incident

According to Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director of Dubai Police's General Department of Traffic, the driver, a 19-year-old Emirati identified as M.A.M., was reportedly engaged in reckless driving maneuvers and stunts in the sandy terrain. A sudden swerve resulted in the SUV overturning, causing injuries to the driver and four passengers.

Hospital Rush and Warning

Following the accident, all injured individuals were promptly transported to the hospital for medical attention, as stated by Maj Gen Al Mazrouei. He cautioned against reckless driving practices that could lead to accidents and pose risks to both occupants and pedestrians in desert regions.

Safety Plea and Preventive Measures

The director emphasized the importance of avoiding high-risk driving near areas frequented by families and urged parents to supervise their children's activities, particularly discouraging the illegal modification of vehicles. He highlighted the potential dangers these modified vehicles could pose, labeling them as potentially lethal tools on both desert terrain and public roads.
