Fujairah: 9 Injured After 20 Vehicles Collide on Key Road

A serious road accident involving 20 vehicles — including four trucks — brought traffic to a complete standstill on the road connecting Waib Al Hannah to Dibba Al Fujairah, authorities confirmed on Wednesday.

Emergency teams from Dibba Al Fujairah Police, Masafi Police, Traffic and Patrols Department, and the National Ambulance quickly responded to the scene.

Injuries Reported, Road Reopened

A total of nine people were injured, eight with minor wounds and one with moderate injuries. All injured individuals were treated on-site and taken to the hospital.

Authorities cleared the accident site and reopened the road for motorists shortly after.

Investigation Underway

Police have launched a full investigation to identify what caused the crash and to take appropriate legal measures. Drivers are reminded to stay alert, follow speed limits, and keep a safe distance — especially on mountain roads or in heavy traffic zones.

Spike in Accidents Involving School Buses

This incident follows two separate school bus accidents earlier this week:

  • On Monday, June 9, a crash on E311 left 13 students and a teacher injured.

  • On Tuesday, June 10, another minor collision between two school buses occurred in Ajman’s Al Mowaihat area. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in that case.

Truck Congestion Leads to More Fatalities

Truck-related traffic on Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Road (E311) has contributed to six deaths and 137 accidents since January, according to newly released data.
