RAK Activates Radars to Detect Cars Expired Registration

Ras Al Khaimah on Sunday has activated new smart cameras to detect vehicles with expired registration and insurance.

The radars will also flag cars involved in any criminal activity or traffic offences committed in the past.

The hi-tech devices showed 95% accuracy in detecting violations linked to vehicle plates during trials carried out by Ras Al Khaimah Police.

The smart monitoring system was initially announced by the authority in October.
