Tip Dhs10, Careem Adds Dhs10: UAE Riders to Get Double Tips This Ramadan

If you’re already tipping your Careem Captain during Ramadan, here’s some good news: your generosity is about to go further.

Ride-hailing giant Careem has launched a limited-time “Tip Matching” campaign in the UAE. From February 18 to March 19, the company will match every in-app tip of Dhs10 or more — dirham for dirham.

So if you tip Dhs10, your Captain receives Dhs20. Tip Dhs25? They get Dhs50. Simple math, bigger impact.

How It Works

The offer applies after rides, deliveries, or Hala Taxi trips booked through the app.

All you need to do is:

  • Book a ride or place an order through the Careem app (including Food, Quik, Shops, Box, or Hala Taxi)

  • Tip Dhs10 or more

  • Careem automatically matches it

And here’s the important part: 100 percent of the tip — including the matched amount — goes directly to Captains. The full sum is transferred instantly to their Careem Pay account, so they can access or move the money to their bank right away.

Supporting Captains During Ramadan

Ramadan is a busy time, and many Captains continue working long hours while fasting. According to Careem, the initiative is meant to boost their earnings during the Holy Month and reflect the spirit of generosity Ramadan is known for.

Beyond tip matching, Careem and Hala will also distribute daily Iftar meals to Captains across the UAE, helping those on the road break their fast with a warm meal.

Mudassir Sheikha, CEO and co-founder of Careem, said Captains are “the heartbeat of Careem,” adding that doubling customer tips is a practical way to honor the season and support those keeping cities moving.

So if you’re booking a ride or ordering food anyway, that extra Dhs10? It now does double the good.
