UAE Air Defences Intercept 12 Ballistic Missiles and 17 Drones on Monday

The UAE’s air defence systems intercepted and destroyed 12 ballistic missiles and 17 drones launched from Iran on Monday, according to the Ministry of Defence.

Officials said the aerial threats were detected and neutralised before reaching their targets, as part of the country’s ongoing defensive operations.

Missiles and drones intercepted

In the latest update, the Ministry confirmed that 12 ballistic missiles and 17 drones were successfully shot down by the UAE’s air defence systems.

However, three ballistic missiles landed in the sea, while one drone fell within UAE territory. Authorities did not report major damage or casualties following the incidents.

Over 1,500 aerial threats neutralised so far

Since the Iranian attacks began, the UAE says its defence forces have intercepted a large number of incoming threats.

According to official figures:

  • 233 ballistic missiles have been intercepted and destroyed

  • 1,359 drones have been shot down

  • 8 cruise missiles have also been neutralised

The Ministry of Defence continues to monitor the situation closely while maintaining active air defence operations across the country.
