Meet the Young Emirati Horsewomen Who Won the UAE President’s Heart at the Union Parade

The Union Parade had plenty of unforgettable moments, but one scene grabbed everyone’s attention — a group of young Emirati girls riding their horses with total confidence, grace, and skill right in front of the UAE President. Dressed in traditional Emirati attire, they saluted the nation’s leaders while pulling off impressive stunts that showed just how much talent the next generation already carries.

Fatima’s Story: From Camel Rides to a Presidential Applause

One of the star riders was 11-year-old Fatima Ahmed Al Rumaithi from Al Samha. Growing up in a Bedouin environment, she was no stranger to animals — she rode camels daily with her father, a seasoned camel racing competitor.

Her love for horses began at just four years old, and after a short pause during the pandemic, she returned stronger in 2025. She caught the eye of Captain Ali Al Ameri, a respected equestrian expert, who saw her potential immediately.

Fatima said she wasn’t nervous during the parade. If anything, she was thrilled.
“The best gift was the President’s smile and applause,” she shared. Her big stunt? The standing maneuver — a challenging move that requires trust, balance, and serious concentration.

Sisters Who Turned Their Childhood Fascination Into Skill

Also turning heads were sisters Latifa (11) and Wadima (12) Al Kathiri, both from Abu Dhabi. They started riding young, inspired by the strength and beauty of horses. With the full support of their family, they trained at Bodhib Academy and committed to mastering different equestrian disciplines.

Over the years, they learned endurance riding, completed several 80km qualifiers, and quickly picked up show jumping — even winning their first two competitions. Recently, they’ve been learning trick riding, including the same standing technique inspired by Fatima Al Ameri, the first Emirati woman to pull it off.

Their training hasn’t been easy. Latifa mentioned a fall that briefly forced her to rest, but she came back stronger just a week later, determined to overcome fear.

A Moment They’ll Never Forget

For the sisters, performing at the Union Parade was a dream come true.
“We felt proud to represent Emirati horsewomen,” they said. “We saw the look of pride in the President’s eyes — like a father proud of his daughters.”

Wadima also shared her long-term goal: becoming a veterinarian and one day owning a stable to care for horses.

Building Confidence, Courage, and Character

From endurance riding to trick skills, horse training to show jumping, these young riders have taken on challenges that require discipline and bravery. And their journey is only just beginning. They plan to continue learning, improving, and performing — both in the UAE and beyond.
