The UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) said the decision was taken to ensure the safety of flights and aircrews and to safeguard the country’s territory.

According to the authority, the move followed a comprehensive assessment of security and operational risks and was implemented in full coordination with relevant national and international authorities.

The GCAA stressed that airspace safety and the protection of the UAE’s sovereignty remain absolute priorities.

Passengers urged to check flight updates

Passengers have been advised to contact their respective airlines for the latest updates on flight schedules. The GCAA noted that airlines will provide accommodation and necessary assistance to affected travellers in coordination with local authorities.
