UAE Residents Warned about Drug Consumption Abroad

Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, the Deputy Chief of Police and Public Security in Dubai, as well as the Chairman of the UAE's Drug Control Council, has warned young individuals about the risks associated with frequenting cafes and similar establishments where drug consumption occurs, even if those substances are legal in certain countries.

“We will not hesitate to monitor these places and the young people who visit them, and arrest them upon their return to the state.”

The warning message was delivered by Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim during the launch of the Drug Prevention Forum, held at City Centre Al Zahia Mall in Sharjah. The event was attended by Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, the Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, along with other high-ranking officers. The forum was under the theme "Join us to stop it" and aimed to raise awareness about drug prevention.

Lt Gen Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, attended the inauguration of the Drug Prevention Forum, organized by the Ministry's General Department for Drug Control in partnership with Sharjah Police.
