UAE Rolls Out Digital Degree Verification for Private Sector

The UAE government has introduced a new digital service that allows companies to instantly verify the academic qualifications of job applicants in the private sector.

Launched by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the initiative is part of the country’s wider push toward digital transformation.

Faster hiring, less paperwork

The system targets workers who hold degrees from universities outside the UAE and are applying for roles that fall under skill levels 1 to 4. With this new setup, employers can now verify documents through MoHRE’s digital platforms or in person at service centres, skipping the hassle of manual paperwork and lengthy checks.

Officials said the new process will cut down on delays, reduce hiring errors, and give employers more confidence in the credentials of potential hires.

UAE qualifications to be included soon

While the service currently covers only foreign degrees, authorities confirmed that qualifications issued within the UAE will also be added to the system in future updates.

A boost for the job market and investors

By simplifying the hiring process, the UAE hopes to create a more flexible labour market and strengthen its image as a go-to place for both job seekers and international investors.

The move also improves cooperation between public and private sectors, aligning with national goals to modernise government services and stay competitive on a global scale.
