UAE's DXB Remains the Busiest International Airport in 2023

Dubai International Airport (DXB) has once again claimed the title of the world's busiest international airport in 2023, boasting a 56.5 million seating capacity, according to the latest data from aviation consultancy OAG. This marks a 25% surge in seating compared to the previous year, positioning DXB as a global aviation powerhouse.

Robust Growth Trajectory

The Middle East hub, known for its aviation prominence, continued to grow steadily, marking a strong comeback after the pandemic. Dubai Airports’ forecast of 86.8 million passengers in 2023 exceeds the 2019 figures, indicating a significant rebound in air travel post-pandemic. London Heathrow Airport (LHR) secured the second spot, accommodating 46.5 million seats.

Global Rankings and Key Routes

Similarly, OAG also revealed that DXB secured its position as the second busiest airport globally, following Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (ATL), which recorded 61 million seats.

Moreover, significant air routes like Dubai-Riyadh ranked sixth worldwide with 3.99 million seats, highlighting the substantial air traffic volume within the region and internationally.
