Users of the social media platform X have reported a series of issues affecting the service.

March 10, 2025, the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, experienced significant outages affecting users worldwide. Reports indicate that users encountered difficulties accessing their feeds, posting content, and utilizing search functions across both mobile and desktop versions of the platform. Error messages such as "Something went wrong. Try reloading" were commonly displayed during these disruptions.

According to Downdetector, a website that tracks service interruptions, the initial surge of outage reports occurred around 6:00 a.m. Eastern Time, with approximately 23,000 users affected. A subsequent spike was observed at 10:00 a.m., during which over 40,000 users reported issues.

Elon Musk, owner of X, addressed the situation by attributing the outages to a "massive cyberattack." He suggested that the attack was highly coordinated, potentially involving a large group or even a nation-state. Musk stated that the platform is actively investigating the source of the attack.

The outages appeared to have a global impact, with users from various regions reporting similar issues. In Spain, for instance, over 1,000 complaints were registered, with users unable to refresh their main feeds, post content, or use the search function.

As of now, X has not released an official statement detailing the cause of the outages or the measures being taken to prevent future incidents. Users are advised to monitor official X channels for updates and exercise caution when accessing the platform during such disruptions.
