UAE National Day Holiday Announced for Private Sector Employees

The UAE has announced that private-sector employees in the country will have paid holiday for the UAE National Day on Saturday, Dec. 2 and Sunday, Dec. 1.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation made the announcement on its X page.

UAE National Day

The UAE National Day celebrates the formation of the country in 1971.

The National Day celebrates the date when the six emirates came together to form one country.

Ras Al Khaimah joined the country as an emirate in 1972.

Commemoration Day

Commemoration Day falls on Nov. 30, preceding the UAE National Day as it commemorates the people who lost their lives in the line of service.

In recent years, the event has been marked with a public holiday on Dec. 1.

UAE National Day Celebrations at Expo City Dubai

The UAE celebrates its 52nd National Day this year and the official celebrations will take place at the Expo City Dubai, which is the venue for the COP28.

The program will feature innovative technologies, various cool projections, performances, and storytelling that will showcase the rich cultural heritage of the UAE.

The UAE National Day program at the Expo City Dubai will be broadcast live on Dec. 2 by all local TV channels and on the official website Union Day.
