Hundreds of volunteers from across the Emirates joined the “We Stand Together” initiative, which was launched in partnership between the Emirates Red Crescent, Dubai Cares, and the Sharjah Charity Association, in coordination with the Ministry of Community Development and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and with the support of nine other Emirati humanitarian institutions to prepare emergency relief packages for women and children affected by the ongoing floods in Pakistan.

The campaign was able to prepare 1,200 tons of food, health, and hygiene items, including 30,000 food packages, and that relief packages will be delivered to Pakistan urgently.

The community volunteer event witnessed the participation of citizens and residents of all ages and nationalities in three locations, namely the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center, the “Expo Dubai” and the “Expo Center Sharjah”.

The food packages included (flour, rice, lentils, and oil, among other non-perishable items), while the hygiene packages included basic personal hygiene items for women and children, such as diapers, sanitary napkins, soap, and others.

This came within the framework of strengthening brotherly relations between the two brotherly peoples and supporting those affected in brotherly Pakistan.
