UAE's Gaza Aid Convoy Looted While Passing Israeli Zone

A humanitarian aid convoy sent by the UAE to Gaza was looted while passing through a restricted area controlled by Israeli forces—disrupting much-needed relief efforts for the region. The incident, described as a serious blow to humanitarian work, took place under Operation Gallant Knight 3, the UAE’s ongoing mission to support Palestinians in Gaza.

Last Wednesday, a shipment of flour and bakery essentials successfully made it to Gaza’s warehouses. The goal? To help get the city’s struggling bakeries back on their feet and feed thousands of families.

Plans were in place to send in 103 additional trucks filled with essentials like flour, gas, cooking oil, salt, sugar, and other critical items needed to keep bakery operations running. But things didn’t go as expected.

Only 24 of those trucks were actually allowed in. And of those, just one truck’s cargo made it to the warehouses without being tampered with. The rest of the convoy had to pass through a dangerous “red zone” overseen by Israeli forces. That’s where the looting occurred. Most of the supplies were stolen, leaving the mission with a major setback.

Operation Gallant Knight 3 strongly condemned the theft, calling it a direct hit to Gaza’s nearly 2.3 million residents who depend on international aid for survival. The UAE emphasized that attacks like this prevent lifesaving support from reaching people who need it most.

Despite this serious obstacle, the UAE’s commitment to humanitarian support in Gaza remains strong. Since launching Operation Gallant Knight 3, the UAE has sent 100 aid convoys and continues to assist displaced families, reaching over 9,500 people in southern Gaza alone.

This incident highlights the challenges of delivering aid in conflict zones and underscores the urgent need for secure humanitarian corridors that ensure relief reaches the people who need it, without interference.
