In a dramatic sea rescue on Tuesday, June 17, the UAE’s Coast Guard successfully evacuated all 24 crew members aboard the oil tanker ADALYNN after it collided with another vessel just 24 nautical miles off the UAE coastline in the Gulf of Oman.

The swift response, coordinated by the National Guard, involved deploying rescue boats that safely transported all personnel to the Port of Khor Fakkan. Officials confirmed the operation wrapped up without casualties or injuries.

While the British maritime security firm Ambrey didn’t release many details, it ruled out foul play, stating the incident “was not security-related”—a notable clarification given the current regional tensions.

The accident happened near the Strait of Hormuz, a globally strategic waterway where around 20 million barrels of oil pass daily. With tensions flaring between Israel and Iran again, clarity around this incident was vital.
