Criminal Reports in Dubai Drop by 63% in 2022

Dubai saw a 63.2 percent decrease in criminal reports filed in 2022, compared to a year prior, according to the General Department of Criminal Investigation (CID) at the Dubai Police.

Commander-in-chief of the Dubai Police, Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, attributed the drop to the city's innovative security projects that contributed to preventing crime.

The Crime Prevention Department arrested 422 wanted individuals for various charges last year, while the Tourist Police Department delivered 55 awareness lectures for 4,085 people working in the tourism sector.

Meanwhile, the Lost and Found Department returned items to 745 people in 2022 and honored 14 others who handed over forgotten valuables to the police.
