Man Posing as Woman Caught Begging in Dubai

A man dressed as a woman was apprehended while begging near a mosque in Dubai. Disguised in an abaya and niqab, the Arab national was nabbed after a resident tipped off the authorities. Justifying his actions, he claimed that women receive more sympathy than men.

Brigadier Ali Salem Al Shamsi, Director of the Department of Suspects and Criminal Phenomena, cautioned the public to remain vigilant against such individuals exploiting people's compassion during Ramadan. He emphasized refraining from giving money to beggars and donating only through legitimate channels.

Dubai Police recently disclosed the arrest of 17 beggars on Ramadan's first day. They urged the public to report begging and other unlawful activities by dialing 901 or using the 'Police Eye' feature on the Dubai Police app.
