Dubai Tram Service Disrupted Near Marina After Tower Blaze

If you were planning to hop on the Dubai Tram this weekend, you might want to double-check your route.

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced a temporary suspension of service between Marina Station (No. 5) and Palm Jumeirah Station (No. 9) following a late-night fire that broke out in a nearby high-rise tower on Friday.

The move, according to RTA, is purely precautionary, aimed at protecting passengers and clearing the area safely for post-fire recovery efforts.

To ease the inconvenience, replacement bus services have been rolled out to cover the affected stretch. The rest of the tram network is still operating as normal, so most commuters can stick to their usual routes without worry.

As of now, there's no official timeline for when full tram service will resume on the Marina–Palm Jumeirah line, but RTA assured that service will return as soon as safety inspections give the all-clear.

This announcement comes after a dramatic blaze engulfed Marina Pinnacle, a 67-storey tower near the tram line, prompting the evacuation of nearly 4,000 residents. The fire was extinguished with zero injuries reported, and efforts are now focused on safety checks and clean-up.

For real-time updates, commuters are encouraged to check RTA’s official channels or use the S’hail app.
