The Dubai Public Prosecution is investigating a daring robbery involving five Ethiopian nationals, who allegedly broke into four trading company offices in Al Ras and stole around AED 30,000 in cash.

According to authorities, the gang forced their way into the offices at night, broke open safes, and ransacked the premises. The crime was discovered the next morning when company owners arrived and found their offices in disarray. Police were immediately notified.

A combined team of patrol officers, crime-scene investigators, and forensic experts quickly responded to the scene. Files and papers were scattered across the offices, and the safes had been pried open. Investigators collected fingerprints and other evidence while reviewing CCTV footage, which showed the suspects fleeing in a Toyota Corolla.

Police traced the vehicle’s licence plate and arrested the driver, who confessed to the crime and led officers to his accomplices. The remaining four suspects were tracked down and arrested in Abu Dhabi in coordination with local police.

During interrogation, all five suspects confessed to the robbery. Law enforcement recovered AED 18,000 of the stolen money, while the suspects admitted that the rest had already been transferred to their home country.

Investigations are ongoing, and the accused are expected to face formal charges soon.
