Let Zafran Regale You With Biryani Tales

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Who can resist that complex blend of spices, condiments, flavors and aroma with perfectly cooked rice and tender meat that just melts in your mouth? Biryani is a universal favorite and from now until 30th June, Zafran Indian Bistro celebrates this rich, flavorful, wholesome dish with Biryani Tales.

Conceptualized by Zafran’s award-winning team of in-house chefs, this seasonal menu takes you on a culinary journey through India, as you savor distinctive versions of this signature dish, each reflecting the flavors, spices, and herbs synonymous with the region they originated from.

Begin your sojourn in the Southern state of Kerala with the Malabar Biryani.  This main course substitutes the meat and chicken protein option with seafood obtained from a choice of prawns and a wide range of fish. The more discerning palate will appreciate the coastal influences of coconut and special seasonings that give this fare a certain mystique.

Work your way East to far off West Bengal and try the Kolkata Biryani. Having evolved from the traditional Lucknow-style biryani, this dish was tweaked with an additional ingredient -the humble and much-loved potato. Rich in history it is now a staple in the city of Kolkata, which was once ruled by Nawabs (Mughal princes).

From Hyderabad, the land of Nawabs, comes the Rampuri Gosht Biryani. This delicacy is integral to Rampuri cuisine - a confluence of numerous culinary arts taken from Awadhi, Mughlai and Afghani sources and features succulent pieces of lamb, tomato puree, caramelized onions, and mint and ghee rice infused with spices.

The final chapter in Biryani Tales is given to the northern Indian mint drenched Murgh Pudina Biryani, a Delhi-style chicken and rice blend that is robust and heavy on flavors.

All these biryanis are served with raita, a condiment made of mildly spiced yoghurt.

“Biryani is so much more than just another Indian dish.  Its stands for celebration and evokes memories of family gatherings, special occasions and for many, their mother’s cooking. Each dish on this menu celebrates the richness of Indian cuisine and the passion of our team to bring those special aromas and tastes of home that much closer,” said Sajeev Chelattu, Brand Chef, Zafran Indian Bistro.

The Biryani Tales menu will be available from today until 30th June 21 at Zafran in Dubai Marina Mall and Mirdif City Centre with prices starting at AED 74. The restaurants are open to guests for lunch as well as dinner from 12 pm – 11 pm on weekdays and 12 pm – 12 am on weekends.
