How to Retain Spirituality After Ramadan

It is no doubt that we have adopted some behaviors that are religious during the holy month of Ramadan. Ramadan practices are there to mainly get us closer to God through spiritual practices, but it's not only set for the Holy Month of Ramadan.

After a month of intense ibadah, and having fewer distractions, shifting out of Ramadan, to regular or normal life creates feelings of uneasiness.

Ramadan is the month of Qur’an so afterwards, daily reading can decrease drastically as most are not hurrying to finish the khatam within a month. Reading daily Qur’an even if it’s just a little is one practice to continue with.

Making dua during prayer, or performing acts of  ibadah during special times; an hour after Fajr, or Magrib to Isha, is a way to set aside time for extra worship.

Continuing to increase knowledge about various aspects of the Qur’an and Sunnah regularly.

The lessons learnt during Ramadan: self-control, routine, consistency and faith are reflected onto other aspects of life – keep practicing them.

Practicing such habits that you have adopted during Ramadan after it ends will not only affect your mental health positively but also elevate your spirituality drawing you closer to God!
