Some UAE Schools Announce Four-Day Weekend for Diwali

Some schools in the UAE have announced a four-day weekend for students to celebrate Diwali, however on-campus celebrated are muted because of the Gaza crisis. 

GEMS Our Own Indian School shared that the school will remain closed on Friday, Nov. 10 and Monday, Nov. 13, which will make a four-day weekend for students to enjoy the beautiful occassion of Diwali.

On-campus celebrations are limited to class assemblies and will be purely educational in nature. 

On the other hand, Sharjah Indian School has given students a day off for Diwali, but all kinds of festivities on-campus are cancelled. 

An Abu Dhabi-based school has cancelled all major celebrations and festivities this year.

GEMS Education sent a communique to all their schools, which announced the suspension fo all celebrations because of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
