UAE Announces Eid Al Adha 2025 Public Holiday Dates

It’s official! UAE public sector employees can get ready for a much-anticipated four-day weekend this June, as the government has announced the Eid Al Adha 2025 holiday dates.

The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources confirmed that the break will begin on Thursday, June 5, and run through Sunday, June 8 — with work resuming on Monday, June 9.

This year’s holiday period aligns with 9 to 12 Dhul Hijjah, the sacred Islamic calendar dates for the Day of Arafah and Eid Al Adha.

The decision followed the moonsighting committee’s announcement on Tuesday evening confirming that the Dhul Hijjah crescent was visible across the UAE skies. As a result, May 28 was marked as the first day of Dhul Hijjah.

That means June 5 will be the Day of Arafah, and Eid Al Adha officially begins on Friday, June 6.

The four-day stretch offers a perfect opportunity for staycations, travel plans, or just well-deserved downtime — and residents are already counting the days.

Whether you’re planning a quick escape or staying local for festivities, this Eid break promises the perfect reset before summer heats up.
