UAE Extends Nafis Programme to 2040 for Emirati Workforce

The United Arab Emirates has announced a major extension of the Nafis Programme, pushing the initiative’s timeline to 2040 as part of efforts to strengthen Emirati employment in the private sector.

The decision was announced by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, following directives from Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The extended programme introduces new family-focused benefits, including support for children of Emirati mothers and additional assistance for the wives of Emirati employees working in private companies.

Authorities also confirmed that the children’s allowance has been expanded, removing the cap on the number of children eligible for support.

Since its launch, Nafis has played a key role in Emiratisation efforts, helping 176,000 Emiratis secure employment, with 152,000 currently working in the private sector.

Women make up a significant portion of beneficiaries at 74 per cent, while tens of thousands have benefited from family support initiatives.

The programme also continues to gain traction among businesses, with over 32,000 companies participating in hiring national talent.

The extension reflects the UAE’s long-term vision to build a resilient workforce, enhance economic participation, and support family stability across the country.
