UAE Invites Residents to Use Friend or Relative Visa Service

The UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security is encouraging citizens and residents to make use of the Friend or Relative Visa service. This initiative aims to promote family reunifications and create opportunities for visitors to experience the country’s lifestyle and culture.

Visa Options and Benefits

The Friend or Relative Visa offers flexible choices, including single-entry and multiple-entry options, with stay durations ranging from 30 to 90 days. These visas are valid for entry within 60 days of issuance and can be extended while in the UAE.

Residents and citizens can apply for the visa through the authority’s website or mobile application by logging in with their digital identity. Applicants must select the desired visa type, provide accurate details, and submit required documents.

To qualify, the applicant must have:

Enhancing Family Ties and Tourism

Maj-Gen Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, director-general of the authority, highlighted the visa’s role in strengthening family bonds and welcoming visitors to the UAE. “This initiative is designed to make it easier for families and friends to reunite while showcasing the advantages of living and investing in the UAE,” Al Khaili said.

Compliance and Penalties

The authority reminded applicants and visitors to adhere to visa regulations, particularly the specified duration of stay. Overstaying or failing to leave the country could result in administrative penalties.
