UAE Ranks First Worldwide for Public Trust in Government

The UAE has landed at the top of the global chart for public trust in government, according to the 2026 Edelman Trust Barometer.

The ranking puts the country in first place worldwide, highlighting strong public confidence in how the government delivers services and communicates with its people.

UAE Scores High on Trust

The UAE scored 80 out of 100 in the Government Trust Index, marking an increase from previous years. The result reflects residents’ trust in transparency, credibility, and the government’s ability to get things done.

China also scored 80, placing it alongside the UAE at the top of the list. Other high-ranking countries included India, Indonesia, and Saudi Arabia.

Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, shared the news in a post on X, calling attention to the global recognition.

What the Trust Barometer Measures

The Edelman Trust Barometer is an annual global study run by New York-based research firm Edelman. It tracks public trust in governments, businesses, media, and NGOs across more than 30 countries, focusing on honesty, competence, and commitment to the public good.
