Dubai's Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who serves as both the Ruler of Dubai and the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, has issued a new law that renames the Dubai Maritime City Authority. Under the new law, the authority will be called the Dubai Maritime Authority, and it will be affiliated with the Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC).

The move is aimed at strengthening Dubai's position as a leading maritime hub and enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the maritime sector.

In addition to strengthening Dubai's position as a top maritime hub, the new law issued by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum aims to achieve a range of other objectives. These include enhancing maritime security, attracting foreign and local investments, and safeguarding the marine environment.

Apart from renaming the Dubai Maritime City Authority, the new law issued by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum clearly outlines the authority's duties and responsibilities.

The Dubai Maritime Authority will be responsible for regulating all maritime activities in the emirate, including issuing licenses for maritime transportation and ensuring safety measures are adhered to by vessels operating in the waters.
