Hate skipping workouts when it's too hot outside? Sheikh Hamdan has your back and your steps. On Thursday, July 24, the Crown Prince of Dubai launched Dubai Mallathon, a fun and fresh fitness initiative that turns the city's biggest malls into early-morning indoor tracks.

Join our FREE WhatsApp channel to dive into a world of real-time engagement!

Part of the Dubai Social Agenda 33 targets, this exciting campaign invites residents to get moving in air-conditioned comfort from 7am to 10am daily throughout August. Whether you're a power-walker, casual stroller, or a mall employee squeezing in a pre-shift stretch, there’s space and motivation for everyone.

Where to Join the Mallathon

No treadmill? No problem. You can now walk, jog or run across seven of Dubai’s biggest shopping hubs, including:

  • Dubai Mall
  • Dubai Hills Mall
  • Mall of the Emirates
  • Dubai Marina Mall
  • City Centre Mirdif
  • City Centre Deira
  • The Springs Souk

Each mall will have designated walking and running paths, complete with fitness-tracking tools, health awareness stations, kid-friendly zones, and guided warm-up sessions.

Why It Matters

Launching the initiative, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, said the goal is to “adopt a healthy and active lifestyle with ease and safety” during the summer.

“It’s a simple idea with a powerful goal,” he added. “We want everyone in Dubai to feel they can stay active and energised in welcoming spaces built with their needs in mind.”

From youth to senior citizens, kids to retail staff, this one’s for all of us. As Sheikh Hamdan said, “Every step you take moves us closer to a healthier Dubai.”

How to Join

It’s free! Just register on the official site: www.dubaimallathon.ae. Once signed up, you'll receive a digital participation card to scan in at the malls.

Bonus: Participating restaurants and retail outlets are also offering special deals to help you stay on track with healthy eating and mindful spending. Who said fitness and fun can’t go hand-in-hand?

More Than Just a Walk

This isn't Sheikh Hamdan’s first fitness push. From the Dubai Run to the Dubai Fitness Challenge, he’s made it clear: fitness belongs everywhere, and it should be accessible to everyone.

Now with the Dubai Mallathon, we’re seeing another clever step (literally) toward building the world’s most active city, even when temps outside hit 45°C.

So, lace up your sneakers and head to the mall. Your morning walk just got a cool, air-conditioned upgrade.
