Etihad Rail Makes its First Passenger Journey!

Etihad Rail made its first passenger journey from Abu Dhabi to Al Dhannah on Thursday, Jan. 25.

The Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, the President of COP28, made the first passenger journey on the Etihad Rail along with other officials.

Etihad Rail will allow ADNOC workers to easily travel from Abu Dhabi to Al Dhannah once the route is fully operational.

The Etihad Rail project will connect various centers of trade and industry in the UAE.

There is no official date when the passenger rail service will launch, but the first passenger station is expected to open at Sakamkam in Fujairah.

Etihad Rail’s freight network became fully operational in February 2023.
