H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Launches Dubai-It

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has officially launched the "Dubai-it" initiative, designed to convey Dubai's distinctive philosophy of work to future generations and embed it as a lasting culture across institutions and companies.

Announcing the initiative via the X platform, Sheikh Mohammed outlined the core principles that have driven Dubai's development over the past five decades. "Dubai's philosophy of work is based on achieving exceptional results in record time with mastery and excellence," he stated. "Speed does not mean haste... Quality does not mean slowness... And ambition is worthless without execution."

Defining 'Dubai-it'

Sheikh Mohammed clarified the meaning behind the new initiative: "Dubai-it means rapid achievement, masterful and distinguished execution and results which the world sees in record time."

He explained the strategic purpose: "We launched 'Dubai-it' to convey Dubai's philosophy of work to future generations, and to instill it as a work culture in our institutions and companies and to build the next leaps with it."

The initiative rests on a well-established principle that has guided Dubai's leadership: "Our slogan is always 'we say what we do... and we do what we say.'"

A Legacy of Transformation

Issam Kazim, CEO of Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing, shared his reflections on the initiative through Instagram, capturing how "Dubai-it" embodies the city's transformation story.

"To take an idea that others think is impossible and turn it into reality," Kazim wrote. "To think bigger. To move faster. To never compromise on quality. To always find a way forward."

Kazim highlighted Dubai's remarkable journey: "In just over 50 years, Dubai has grown from a small fishing and trading community into one of the world's most connected, diverse and dynamic cities. Not because it followed conventional thinking, but because it challenged it."

The 'Why Not?' Mentality

According to Kazim, Dubai's success stems from refusing to accept limitations. He recalled Sheikh Mohammed's consistent response to critics who questioned the city's ambitious projects:

"Many times over the years, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed was asked Why? Why the biggest, why the hardest? His answer, always the same... Why Not?"

This questioning approach has defined Dubai's developmental strategy, prioritizing bold vision over conventional constraints.

Core Values of the Initiative

The 'Dubai-it' initiative encapsulates several key values:

Value Description
Rapid Achievement Quick delivery of meaningful results
Masterful Execution Excellence in implementation regardless of timeline
Challenging Limitations Rejecting constraints that prevent progress
Ambitious Goal Setting Pursuing targets that inspire innovation
Purposeful Action Moving forward with intention and focus
Deeds Over Words Delivering tangible outcomes rather than empty promises

"Aside from all these, Dubai-it is to believe that the extraordinary is achievable," Kazim wrote. "That speed and excellence can go hand in hand. That the future is not something to wait for, but something to build."

Looking Forward

The initiative comes as Dubai continues to position itself as a global hub for innovation, business, and tourism. By formalizing its work philosophy into an actionable framework, the emirate aims to ensure that the driving forces behind its growth continue to energize public and private sector organizations alike.

"By deeds, not words," Kazim concluded—a sentiment that appears to guide the entire 'Dubai-it' initiative as it moves toward implementation across Dubai's institutional landscape.
