Salik's Ticketless Parking System Debuts in Deira

Parking in Dubai just got a glow-up. Salik, the city’s go-to toll operator, has teamed up with Parkonic to roll out a new ticketless parking experience — and if you live or visit the Deira Enrichment Project, you’re in luck.

Instead of fumbling with tickets or jumping between payment apps, drivers can now enter and exit select parking zones using just their vehicle’s licence plate. That’s right: your plate becomes your parking pass, and your Salik e-wallet handles the charges.

The Deira Enrichment Project, made up of 11 districts, is the first to experience this sleek new system. It’s part of a five-year partnership between Salik and Parkonic, one of the UAE’s largest private parking operators. And yes — this marks Salik’s first-ever expansion beyond Dubai city limits.

So, what’s the cost?

For residents, annual parking membership via the Parkonic app is set at Dh5,000. Visitors who frequent the area can get their own yearly pass for Dh7,500. (Both exclude the 5% VAT.) Prefer to pay as you go? Hourly parking will set you back Dh5, and an overnight stay is Dh25 — VAT included.

Don’t have a Salik account or running low on balance? No worries — just pick another payment method in the app before heading out. But heads-up: skipping payment could lead to fines or legal issues.

Salik has been on a serious upgrade streak lately. From introducing dynamic toll pricing in January to teaming up with Dubai Mall and Union Coop, the operator is branching out in all the right ways.

This latest parking move? Totally on brand for a city that’s always one step ahead.

Pro tip: Keep your Salik e-wallet topped up and your plate clean — Dubai’s going digital one parking lot at a time.
