Sheikh Hamdan Leads Record-Breaking Dubai Run on Sheikh Zayed Road

Dubai witnessed a sea of orange on Sheikh Zayed Road as a staggering 226,000 participants, spanning all age groups, joined the iconic Dubai Run on Sunday morning, solidifying its status as the largest edition to date.

The Dubai Run stands as a flagship event of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, initiated in 2017 by Dubai's Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Sheikh Hamdan led the race, joined by UAE astronauts Sultan Al Neyadi and Hazza Al Mansouri.

This event is a key component of the initiative aiming to transform Dubai into one of the world's most active cities, inspiring individuals to engage in 30 minutes of physical activity daily for 30 days.

Now in its fifth year, the Dubai Run is a global standout, temporarily shutting down the 14-lane Sheikh Zayed Road to traffic for several hours during the event.

Following the triumphant fun run, Sheikh Zayed Road reopened to traffic a few minutes after 10:00 am.
