UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed performed funeral prayers for Sheikh Tahnoon bin Mohammed.

The Ruler’s Representative in Al Ain Region Sheikh Tahnoon passed away on Wednesday, May 1.

Sheikh Mohamed performed the funeral prayers at the Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed the First Mosque in Abu Dhabi. 

The ruler and crown prince of Ras Al Khaimah Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi and Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud Al Qasimi joined Sheikh Mohamed for the funeral prayers.

Sheikh Mohamed and the sheikhs of the Al Nahyan family carried Sheikh Tahnoon to his final resting place at Al Bateen Cemetery.

An official mourning period has been announced for the passing of Sheikh Tahnoon with the flags to be flown at half-mast. 

Sheikh Tahnoon was a close advisor to the Founding Father of the UAE Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. 

Sheikh Tahnoon was previously the Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council of Abu Dhabi, Chairman of Adnoc and Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Petroleum Council.
